Sarah Fangman is the Superintendent for Gray's Reef National Marine Sanctuary. She has worked for NOAA since 1996, first with the National Marine Fisheries Service’s Northwest Fisheries Science Center in Seattle Washington, then as the Science Coordinator for the Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary in Santa Barbara, California. Her current position with the Office of National Marine Sanctuaries is based in Savannah Georgia at the headquarters of Gray’s Reef National Marine Sanctuary. Sarah works on a variety of issues with NOAA marine protected areas, from research and monitoring to policy and planning.
